Angelina Gendreau earned a Master of Human Kinetics with a specialization in Mental Performance Consulting from the University of Ottawa. Throughout her graduate training, she completed over 400 hours of supervised consulting experience, working with athletes across a variety of sports and competitive levels. Prior to her work as a consultant, Angelina was a varsity athlete and served as captain of the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees Women’s Soccer Team, where she competed for four years. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Kinetics with a concentration in Recreation and Sport Management. Drawing from both her academic training and lived experience as an athlete, she is passionate about helping athletes develop the mental skills needed to perform at their best while maintaining a healthy and balanced relationship with sport. She is committed to ongoing professional development and continually expanding her knowledge and expertise within the field of mental performance consulting. As a former athlete, Angelina understands firsthand the challenges that can arise on the mental side of performance. Having experienced the pressures, setbacks, and demands of competitive sport, she is passionate about providing athletes with the support and resources needed to navigate their athletic journeys with confidence. Her approach is collaborative, client-led, and grounded in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)-informed strategies. She primarily works with youth and adolescent athletes, while welcoming athletes, coaches, and teams of all ages and competitive levels. Areas of focus may include confidence, motivation, goal setting, focus, self-talk, performance routines, emotional regulation, resilience, and recovery following mistakes or setbacks. She is particularly passionate about helping athletes develop effective reset routines, strengthen confidence within their roles on a team, and discover who they are not only as athletes, but as individuals beyond sport.
